Martha’s vineyard gifts for her

A large, rustic decorative plate by JK Designs with a textured cream and brown finish and a golden raised design in the center. A yellow lily flower is arranged nearby, enhancing the artisanal display.

Stunning JK Designs Pottery

For a truly unique Martha’s Vineyard souvenir, JK Designs pottery makes an unforgettable gift. There are so many items to choose from.

Last year I received 2 wonderful, large mugs for warm winter drinks and they are stunning. Jessica Kovack creates a beautiful collection of pieces that somehow capture the essence of the island – the clay even reminds you of beach sand!

If you need a hostess gift for a holiday party, I’d recommend one of the Christmas tree ornaments. I chose one in the shape of the island but I’ll be going back for the beautiful circular ones with Edgartown Lighthouse or Lobster Pot Christmas tree gold motif.

Each piece takes about three weeks to complete, with multiple firings and 22-karat gold plate motifs of the island. But, you don’t have to pre-order or wait that long. Pieces are available to buy online or in-person at Juniper in Edgartown.

Whether you choose a mug, jewelry or dish, you’re giving someone a functional piece of art that is quintessentially Martha’s Vineyard.

A woman with curly hair in a white halter bikini reads an e-reader, possibly a Kindle, while relaxing on a beach. The blurred blue ocean and pebble-covered shore create a tranquil, sunlit background, suggesting a peaceful summer day by the water.

Kindle for Summer Beach Reads

Know someone who loves reading on the beach? The Kindle Paperwhite is an ideal gift because it is actually waterproof (love this!) and has a glare-free screen – perfect for sunny beach days.

I like it to bring mine because it’s slim and lightweight so doesn’t take up much space or add any weight to the beach bag. I also like that a single charge can last as much as 10 weeks. One less cable to pack!

I usually buy a few books before my trip so I don’t need to look for wifi to download new ones.  Make it an even more special gift by including a kindle unlimited membership. What’s better than enjoying unlimited books and audiobooks on your new device?!

A close-up of a wrist wearing two delicate permanent bracelets—one silver with a small garnet stone and one with blue beads—held out against a scenic autumn landscape of a winding river and colorful foliage under a cloudy sky.

Stefanie Wolf Designs Gift Card

Want to give someone a piece of the Vineyard they can wear year-round? Pick up a gift card from Stefanie Wolf designs and they can select a piece online, or visit the store next time they’re on the island.

I love the permanent jewelry from Stefanie’s studio and have been so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the bracelets I have. It’s great to see the collection expanding all the time, with new styles of chain (in sterling silver and 14K gold fill), charms and gemstones regularly being added.

I’ve started a tradition of adding a charm or new chain every year. Matching bracelets or necklaces are a great option for family or friend groups marking a special occasion. If you know someone planning a bachelorette or mother/daughter trip in 2026, pick up a gift card for them!

A lit soy candle labeled "Up-Island Orchard" with scents of apple, maple, and bourbon sits on a cork coaster atop a marble countertop. The white jar features a red label with floral graphics and the Katama Candle Co. logo, and its wooden lid rests nearby. A great martha's vineyard gift option

Katama Candle Company

For anyone who loves Martha’s Vineyard and appreciates high-quality, clean-burning candles with authentic scents, Katama Candle Company has what you need.

What I really appreciate about these candles is how natural they smell. The fragrances are strong enough to fill a room but they’re not sickly sweet or chemical-smelling like some candles can be.

I love rotating mine through the seasons. Katama Breeze is perfect for spring – a nice, light scent that reminds me of walking the pathways around South Beach. Up-Island Orchard is my go-to for fall because of the apple and maple notes.

Chrissie’s Last Swim, smelling of ripe apricots and featuring a unique, miniature wax shark, was my summer choice this year. One of the best Martha’s Vineyard souvenirs I’ve picked up and a perfect memento of the JAWS 50th anniversary celebrations.

Each candle is handcrafted in Edgartown by founder, Amanda. Make sure to visit her at the Chilmark Flea Market during the summer!

Official JAWS 50th Anniversary Fleece Throw Blanket

Do you know someone who made it to the island (or wished they did) for JAWS 50th anniversary? This blanket is one of the officially licensed products released for the 50th celebrations.

The blanket features the iconic movie poster and is a fun piece of movie memorabilia they can actually use. At 45″ x 60″, it’s a good size for curling up on the couch during movie night.

If you’d prefer something else along the JAWS theme, the official store has tshirts, toys, DVDs, cushions and lots more to choose from. Sometimes the best gifts are the simple ones that let someone show off what they love!

A white YETI tumbler featuring a golden outline of Martha’s Vineyard against a rustic brick wall. The tumbler has a metallic base and clear lid, with the YETI logo embossed near the bottom

Martha’s Vineyard YETI Rambler

*Gifted*

With Martha’s Vineyard’s ban on single-use plastics now in effect, a reliable reusable bottle or tumbler for drinks has become an essential item for island visits.

This 20oz Rambler (a bestseller from The Green Room) features a stylish silhouette outline of Martha’s Vineyard. Perfect for both hot and cold drinks, the tumbler has that superior insulation YETI is famous for, and is available in two colors – clean white (my favorite!) and a striking navy.

The Rambler keeps drinks at their ideal temperature, whether you’re using it for morning coffee on the ferry or keeping water cold during beach trips. The best feature? The entire thing is dishwasher safe. Mine has been in constant use for a year and still looks like new.

For anyone who appreciates practical gifts with a nod to their favorite destination, this customized YETI makes a perfect gift they’ll enjoy year-round.

A person wearing a navy-blue mesh trucker hat with a white and red logo of a figure in a circular design, along with a small red "Slip77" detail on the side of the hat. The background is softly blurred, focusing on the cap.

Slip 77 Trucker Hat

I picked up this Revolution Rerun Trucker Hat for my husband’s birthday and he loves it! The soft mesh is perfect for the summer heat but they have heavier cotton twill hats for the cooler months.

There are so many styles and designs to choose from and they bring out new ones each year. I love how they feature the Martha’s Vineyard secession flag graphic on so many of their products, a subtle reference to the island’s 1977 attempt at independence.

A Slip 77 hat makes a great gift for the men in your life but the women’s hats are just as cool. My 6 year old also specifically requested a hat for his birthday this year and has been wearing it constantly. Make sure to also check out the super-soft and stylish tshirts and hoodies for men, women and kids.

MV The Dressing

Born from a cherished family recipe on Martha’s Vineyard, MV The Dressing has become a sought-after specialty. This delicious balsamic vinaigrette, combines extra virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, and fresh herbs into a distinctive blend that you can use in salads, dips and marinades.

It’s vegan, gluten-free and dairy free too. Each bottle comes with bonus recipe cards for Green Goddess and Spicy variations, so you can recreate three different island flavors at home.

Made with all-natural ingredients and no artificial additives, it’s an authentic taste of the Vineyard that brings a touch of summer to winter tables. For those who appreciate artisanal food gifts or miss the flavors of MV Salads, this is the perfect gift!

A young girl and a boy eagerly watch as an employee at Murdick’s, wearing a white apron and gloves, hands them a sample of chocolate fudge in a wrapper. The store has a bright, welcoming atmosphere with visible fudge blocks on a marble counter.

Murdick’s fudge Gift Box

A visit to Martha’s Vineyard isn’t complete without strolling past the Murdick’s store and catching the irresistible aroma of freshly made fudge. This island institution has perfected their craft over 130 years, maintaining traditional methods that result in exceptionally smooth, creamy fudge in a whole variety of flavors.

The chocolate peanut butter is my favorite and what I love most about this fudge is that it’s surprisingly light, not too sweet and they use the absolute best, carefully sourced ingredients.

If you’re not near the store, Murdick’s has a whole range of artisan fudge boxes with your choice of flavors available to buy online. I think these make ideal hostess gifts if you’re visiting friends.

This is a gift guaranteed to put a smile on their face. Plus, whatever you don’t use, you can freeze and enjoy it all to yourself another time. I’ve tested this and it still tasted just as good as the day I bought it.

A cozy street view of 9 Craft Kitchen and Bar at dusk, with warm lighting illuminating patrons dining inside. The restaurant's exterior features modern, slatted windows and flower boxes filled with greenery, creating an inviting atmosphere along a quiet sidewalk lined with a few parked cars and buildings in the background.

Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Gift Cards

This is something I always put on my own wish list. Every year, new restaurants open on the island and I want to eat at them all! For Christmas and my birthday, I choose the ones I definitely plan to visit the next summer and ask my family for gift cards

From established favorites like L’étoile and State Road to exciting newcomers such as El Barco’s authentic Mexican cuisine, 9 Craft Kitchen’s innovative fare, and La Strada’s fresh take on Italian dining, the island’s culinary scene just gets better and better.

If you are having trouble choosing, I highly recommend El Barco. The flavor and quality of ingredients is top class and their margaritas (especially the Spicy Ghost) are excellent. If you have never tried birria tacos before, you need to order them here. You won’t regret it!

Buying a restaurant gift card is a great way to support local businesses and for regular visitors, it’s a thoughtful way to contribute to their next island adventure.

A display shelf showcasing a variety of jars filled with Martha’s Vineyard sea salt blends, including flavors like Smoked Oak, Juniper, and Turmeric. A small sign with prices and a leafy background adds to the cozy, artisanal market vibe.

MV Sea Salt

Martha’s Vineyard Sea Salt offers eight exciting seasoning blends to add a zing to your meals. Using traditional sun-drying methods rather than industrial processes, they create sustainable, raw sea salt that preserves the natural mineral content and distinct oceanic flavor.

This commitment to environmental consciousness makes it a great gift for friends and family who want to live more sustainably.

The Traveler Three Pack makes an ideal gift because it’s a small taste of some of their signature blends. I particularly like the Lemon Verbena and Dill, which adds a nice, fresh note to seafood dishes (especially salmon). Each package includes an information card with details on the salt-making tradition.

The large hostess jars are excellent gifts when visiting friends and relatives, or even for your own everyday use. The elegantly packaged gift sets are perfect for cooking enthusiasts and those who appreciate artisanal food products.

Hand holding up the book The Martha’s Vineyard Cookbook by Julia Blanter, featuring a cover photo of a seafood boil with lobster, corn, potatoes, and clams set against a blurred beach background

The Martha’s Vineyard cookbook

If you love Martha’s Vineyard and enjoy cooking, this cookbook is an absolute must-have. Published in March 2025, it’s the first comprehensive Martha’s Vineyard cookbook in nearly 20 years.

Author Julia Blanter, a year-round island resident, has created something really special here. This isn’t just a collection of recipes – it’s a tour across all six towns with stories and stunning photographs.

What I appreciate most is how the book goes beyond the typical New England fare. Yes, there are recipes for Brown-Butter Lobster Rolls and Roasted Clams, but you’ll also discover dishes from the island’s diverse community, like Jamaican fried chicken and Brazilian flan.

The recipes come from beloved local spots like the Black Dog Tavern and Orange Peel Bakery (owned by Juli Vanderhoop, who wrote the foreword). I love that each one includes stories about the farmers, fishermen, and those involved in producing the fresh local ingredients .

This image features a plate of freshly shucked oysters served on the half shell, arranged in a circle around a garnish of lemon wedges. The oysters appear moist and plump, ready to be enjoyed, with a touch of greenery adding a decorative element to the dish. The overall setting suggests a seafood presentation ideal for an appetizer or fine dining experience

Cottage City Oysters

Looking for a truly unique island gift? How about some of the finest oysters you’ll find in New England! My husband first tried Cottage City Oysters at 19 Raw oyster bar and absolutely raves about them.

These aren’t just any oysters – they’re grown in the first open ocean oyster farm in New England by the Martino brothers, oyster farmers who are committed to sustainable farming practices.

What makes these a special treat is not just their amazing taste (thanks to those clean, swift-moving Vineyard Sound waters), but also the care that goes into growing them.

Each oyster is expertly nurtured throughout its three-year journey on the farm, carefully shaped to develop the coveted teardrop silhouette and deep cup.

They’ll ship these beauties right to your doorstep in an iced cooler – perfect for entertaining or as a special gift for the seafood lover in your life. Imagine presenting these at your dinner party?!

A bag of Chilmark Coffee Company's Squibnocket Rocket blend sits on a marble countertop, labeled as a smooth, wood stove dark roast in 12 oz. whole bean packaging. A coffee mug and grinder are blurred in the background.

Chilmark Coffee Company

Need a gift for the coffee lover in your life? The Squibnocket Rocket from Chilmark Coffee Company is your answer! I personally drink this blend and can tell you it’s got a strong, robust flavor that’ll wake you right up. It’s the perfect morning brew.

This small-batch coffee roaster creates something really special here – the current Squibnocket Rocket blend combines organic Colombian and Brazilian beans for a taste of caramel and dark chocolate with just a hint of fruit.

It makes a fantastic gift that’s both thoughtful and practical – because let’s face it, who doesn’t need great coffee in their life?

A display of Mimi's Hitting the Sauce hot sauces, arranged in a rustic store with bottles featuring a playful cartoon character and labels reading "Martha’s Vineyard." The bottles are in various sizes, and the store has a cozy, plant-filled window setting.

MIMI’s Hittin’ The Sauce

Want to spice up someone’s day? Let me tell you about MIMI’s Hittin’ The Sauce! There are multiple varieties available from mild to 🔥🔥🔥

We tried their “Smack My A**” variety with tacos at FISH in Vineyard Haven, and wow – it brings both serious heat and amazing flavor. Made with a blend of habanero, scorpion, ghost bonnet, and reaper peppers, it’s got a gorgeous deep color and complex taste.

What makes this an extra special gift is that it’s 100% made on-island, from the hand-picked garden tomatoes and peppers to the bottle labels. A perfect andtasty gift for any hot sauce enthusiast.

Martha’s Vineyard gifts for all

Mass Audubon and Trustees Memberships

For families who spend all or part of their summers on Martha’s Vineyard, memberships to Mass Audubon or The Trustees of Reservations offer exceptional value.

Beyond providing access to island properties like Cape Poge, Wasque, Long Point, and Norton Point, these memberships include valuable discounts on summer programs at Felix Neck and the Farm Institute – essential for parents planning their children’s summer activities.

We have both memberships and would definitely recommend the Mass Audubon one if you plan to do one of their summer camps – the member discount makes it totally worth it.

We also use our Trustees membership for reduced parking at Long Point beach and a small discount on the awesome fresh eggs at the Farm Institute!

The benefits extend well beyond the Vineyard, making these memberships particularly worthwhile for Massachusetts residents. Mass Audubon members gain access to over 60 wildlife sanctuaries across the state, while Trustees members enjoy free or discounted entry to more than 100 properties.

This means year-round opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and exploring protected landscapes, whether you’re on-island or on the mainland.

A child wearing a blue life jacket sits in a bright green kayak on a calm lake, with their hand trailing in the water. The sky is clear with a few fluffy clouds, and the shoreline with trees and buildings is visible in the distance.

GetYourGuide gift card

If someone on your list is planning a Vineyard trip, a GetYourGuide gift card is a smart choice that lets them plan their perfect island vacation.

They can use it to book anything from walking tours of Edgartown to kayak adventures on Sengekontacket pond, or hop on an island bus tour to get the lay of the land. They can even use it to book a day trip from Boston if they just want to make a short visit.

The best part about this gift is how flexible it is. Since the recipient can use it whenever they’re ready, it’s perfect for someone who’s still in the early stages of planning their visit.

And if their Vineyard plans end up changing? No problem – the card works for tours and activities all over the world, from cooking classes in Rome to snorkeling in Maui. It’s a practical way to help someone explore the island while ensuring they’ll get good use out of your gift, whatever their final plans may be.

Michael Blanchard calendar

Want to bring the beauty of Martha’s Vineyard into your home all year round? Michael Blanchard’s inspirational calendar is like having 12 months of island magic hanging on your wall.

I absolutely love his photography – each image captures the island in a way that’ll make you feel like you’re there.

These gallery-worthy photos are printed on thick, fine art paper that you can frame as standalone artwork once the month passes. The calendar serves a deeper purpose too, with proceeds supporting Hospice and Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard.

Each month is accompanied by one of Blanchard’s thoughtful reflections. For those who appreciate fine photography or are looking for a meaningful way to support the island community, this calendar is an ideal gift.

Martha’s vineyard gifts for dogs

A close-up of a bag labeled “Good Dog Goods Martha’s Vineyard Good Life CBD Treats,” with heart-shaped treats scattered in front. The label highlights benefits like pain relief and wellness, featuring a calming background of tile and marble.

Good Dog Goods Good Life Organic CBD Treats

Good Dog Goods carefully crafted CBD treats are designed to help ease anxiety while also providing relief for pets with arthritis or digestive issues.

Each heart-shaped treat contains a blend of calming ingredients and precisely 1mg of CBD, which means you can select the most accurate dose based on your dog’s size and needs.

Kerry, the owner of Good Dog Goods speaks with great pride about developing the recipe for these treats and working with a holistic vet during the process. You can tell she is truly passionate about providing only the highest quality products in her store.

I’ve found these treats invaluable for my own dog during our island trips. She doesn’t find the ferry ride as enjoyable as her humans do and these really help to make the experience less stressful for her.

Their effectiveness is matched by their quality – made with organic, human-grade ingredients in a kosher bakery, these wheat-free and soy-free treats are suitable even for pets with sensitivities.

A purple frisbee with a bright green center featuring the Good Dog Goods logo and the text "Martha’s Vineyard" and "Made in New England." The background is a lush, green outdoor setting.

Good Dog Goods Frisbee

*Gifted*

The best thing about Good Dog Goods’ Frisbee is that it’s a beach toy both dogs and their families can enjoy safely.

Made in Maine with non-toxic materials and water-based inks, the frisbee reflects owner Kerry’s commitment to stocking only products that meet the highest safety standards for both pets and the young children who often share their space.

Kerry carefully selects and designs items that are safe for all family members, knowing that dog toys often end up being handled by little ones who share the floor with their four-legged friends.

This durable frisbee is perfect for playing on the beach – it floats well for water retrieval and is built to withstand enthusiastic games of fetch.

Because of its size and weight, I’d recommend this for medium to large dogs. For families planning beach days with their pup, or anyone looking for a high-quality dog toy that puts safety first, this Frisbee makes an excellent gift choice.

Martha’s vineyard gifts for kids

A LEGO set featuring the iconic shark attack scene from the movie "Jaws." The set includes a detailed model of the boat "Orca" with three minifigures representing characters from the film, and a large gray shark lunging out of the water. The box in the background displays the LEGO "Jaws" logo and highlights that the set is part of the LEGO Ideas series, recommended for ages 18+, with a total of 1,497 pieces. The set also features a small plaque with the famous quote, "You're gonna need a bigger boat."

LEGO Jaws Set

Holy mackerel! LEGO has outdone themselves with this one. If you know a movie buff or LEGO enthusiast (or better yet, both), this Jaws set is going to blow their mind. It’s not just any old LEGO set – it’s a full-on diorama featuring the Orca boat and, of course, the star of the show: a big ol’ LEGO shark.

If you know someone who came to Martha’s Vineyard for JAWS 50th anniversary in 2025, this is a perfect gift for them to extend the celebrations! It’s definitely going on my wish list.

The attention to detail is insane. You’ve got minifigures of Brody, Hooper, and Quint, plus all sorts of tiny accessories like harpoons and fishing rods. You can even remove the roof of the boat’s cabin to peek inside.

You can display the shark in two (equally scary) ways: either coming out of the water (eek!) or fully built on its own stand. We’re gonna need a bigger boat!

An overhead view of the "Vineyard-opoly" board game inspired by Martha's Vineyard, with themed properties, cards, and money laid out on a wooden table. The board includes local landmarks like Jaws Bridge, Circuit Ave, and features custom cards and tokens reflecting the island’s culture

Vineyardopoly

Ever dreamed of owning a piece of Martha’s Vineyard? Well, now you can – sort of! Vineyardopoly is like Monopoly, but way cooler because it’s all about the Vineyard.

You’ll be wheeling and dealing your way around the island, snatching up prime real estate and trying not to get sent “off island” (which is basically jail!)

We love to play this on family game nights or those rainy days when the beach is a no-go. Plus, it’s a great way to learn about all the local hotspots and businesses.

The best part? For every game sold, they make a donation to MV Community Services. So you’re having fun AND doing good – talk about a win-win!

A baby wearing a floral onesie holds a copy of "Good Night Martha's Vineyard," a children's book with an illustration of a lighthouse on the cover. The cozy setting includes a soft armchair, pastel side table, and decorative items, creating a warm reading environment.

Goodnight Martha’s Vineyard

Got a little islander in your life? “Goodnight Martha’s Vineyard” is the perfect bedtime story to send them off to dreamland with visions of ferryboats and lighthouses dancing in their heads.

This adorable board book takes kiddos on a tour of all the island’s greatest hits, from the gingerbread cottages to the Flying Horses Carousel.

It’s part of the “Good Night Our World” series, so you can trust the quality of the writing and illustrations. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to educate the little ones about the island’s culture and landmarks.

Who knows? You might even learn something new yourself. Even though it’s recommended for ages baby to 3, I have a couple of slightly older kiddos here who are still big fans! They love to read this after a day of exploring so they can spot all the places they just visited.

A storefront named "Juniper, a branch of Donaroma's," with a wooden shingle exterior and a large "OPEN" sign. The entrance is lined with vibrant potted plants and flowers, creating a welcoming and colorful display on a sunlit wooden deck.

Martha’s vineyard gift shops

The Vineyard is home to an impressive group of talented artisans and makers, and their work is stocked in the boutiques and stores across the island. Many of these local brands don’t offer online shopping but  I would encourage you to explore the gift shops whenever you’re on-island.

October is the time for end-of-summer sales, especially around Columbus day weekend when stores clear their inventory in advance of closing for the season.

November and December are actually amazing months for Martha’s Vineyard shopping, as there are so many festive events showcasing local talent.

Holiday markets spring up across the island, offering everything from handcrafted jewelry and artwork to locally made food gifts like cheese, honey and candy. Small Business Saturday in Oak Bluffs (right after Thanksgiving) is a perfect time to do some holiday shopping.

During Christmas in Edgartown in December, you’ll be able to shop at a European-style Christmas market plus attend exclusive in-store events at local boutiques.

Here are some of my favorite online stores for Martha’s Vineyard Shopping:

Two beautifully wrapped holiday presents, one in a white paper with snowflake designs and a red ribbon, and the other in festive red paper with gold stars and a white ribbon, set against a backdrop of a warmly lit, decorated Christmas tree. The scene is accented with red berries and frosted pine cones, evoking a cozy, festive atmosphere. This is the cover photos for the Martha's vineyard gifts holiday gift guide

Closing thoughts: Martha’s Vineyard Gift Guide

Whether you’re shopping for a first-time visitor excited about their upcoming trip, a Vineyard regular who counts down the days between visits, or someone who simply loves quality artisanal goods, I hope this guide has made your shopping a little easier.

These items represent some of my favorite island discoveries, like family game nights with Vineyardopoly and morning coffee from Chilmark Coffee Company.

Many of these products are made by small businesses and island artisans who put their heart into creating quality goods that capture the spirit of Martha’s Vineyard.

By choosing these gifts, you’re not just giving something memorable – you’re also supporting the community that makes the island so special.

Remember to order early to ensure delivery on time. And if you’re lucky enough to be visiting the island in-person, take some time to explore the local shops and markets – you never know what treasures you might discover.
